What I did

Lookt is an app I'm building on my own for iOS and Android. You scan a food's barcode or lot code and it checks it against FDA, USDA and CDC recalls, so you find out in the aisle instead of after dinner. It also keeps watching what's in your pantry, so a recall announced next week still reaches you. It works in English and Spanish, and it's waiting on App Store review.

In one line

Scan a barcode in the aisle and Lookt tells you if it's been recalled, then keeps watching your pantry.

How it was built

  1. One job, in the aisle

Scan a barcode or a lot code and get a clear answer: recalled or not, why it matched, and what to do about it.

  2. Keep watching at home

A pantry list raises an alert if something you already own is recalled later.

  3. Two languages

The app and the website run in English and Spanish.

  4. Ship it

I'm building it for iOS and Android on my own. It's waiting on App Store review as of October 2026.
